December Newsletter: Town Hall Recap, Financial Report, and Community Art Challenge
Read up to see what you missed from our latest Town Hall, our newest financial report, and what to expect in December from the CE team.
Q4 Town Hall Recap
I’d like to preface this with a sincere apology. Due to a few reasons, we were unable to save the VOD of the Town Hall. We’ll be taking extra measures to ensure that Town Halls of 2025 will be properly kept and transcribed. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
What Did We Cover?
This marks the last Town Hall with only Jay. Moving forward, Town Halls will be attended and led by the entire Board of Directors.
Non-profit status: The Chrysalis Collective is a GO!
Donors are asked to hold on to receipts as these are now tax write offs.
Financial allocation → bills are now affordable and we can look into funding development
Development and future internships
Step 1: Fund our main dev so that he can come back to work
Step 2: Begin our internship program to grow our development team
Step 3: Squash. Those. BUGS! (And possible change the language for the platform)
Volunteering at InkBlot
See what’s available now: https://jobs.inkblot.art/
Volunteering at InkBlot not only gives you experience, but it helps build your career resume/portfolio, network/build relations for references, and works as a stepping stone on your professional journey.
You don’t require much experience to apply, these are entry level volunteer positions.
Bringing back our Roadmap
Due to tool changes and moving in the past, we had to close our roadmap as we no longer had a way to present this to the public. However, we’ve decided now is the time to bring this back.
Community Event Plans
While our events team has decided to slow down on events, we’ll be looking into ways to create impactful activities, contests, challenges, etc. for the future. Some big projects will be organized for next year - all collaborative and a way for creatives to shine so, stay tuned.
November Financial Report
Here’s the November Financial Report.
Note from the Director of Finance’s Desk:
Hi everyone! I have some exciting news you may have heard of already in this newsletter/from the TownHall. We have officially recieved our 501©(3) status from the IRS! What this means for InkBlot is that we can finally slash our subscriptions/bills! This will be a huge help in creating some breathing room for us while we work towards hopefully securing grants as well. You’ll see a little bit of this in December’s Financial report, and it should be able to be fully seen in the very first Financial Report of 2025!
What this also means is that anyone who’s donated to Inkblot since September of 2024 can consider those donations as write-offs.
Thank you for sticking with us this far everyone! I’m excited to have some new numbers to show you all in 2025!
CE Lightweight Events
While we mentioned that the Community Events team will be slowing our roll on pumping out events - even ultimately canceling the Secret Santa - we couldn’t sit and let the festive season pass by. So our volunteers are hosting some lighter events to bring up the seasonal cheer!
OC Art Challenge - Winter Gala
Dress up your OCs and show them off! Using the theme: “Winter Wonderland”, draw your OCs in an original outfit design and share on InkBlot! There are no strict rules, just follow the theme and have fun.
Use #WinterGala24 and post to the art challenge once it’s live!
Discord Only - Gartic Phone
Join our CE volunteers for a fun round of Gartic Phone! This is exclusive to our Discord server so if you want to play but aren’t in the server, join it here.
Not sure what Gartic Phone is? Check it out!
Limited Time Adopt Gacha
Coming December 15th, our Ko-Fi will have surprise adopts available for purchase! Be sure to check it out and share with us what you got.
