Board Update: NPO Status Achieved
You read that right, we’ve officially gotten our NPO Status! From here on out, we’ll be working under the name: Chrysalis Collective.
What’s Next?
Now that we’ve received confirmation, we’re currently getting our paperworks together so that we can starting getting our plans in motion. Our initial baby steps revolve around communicating with our current tools’ companies so that we can get discounted or free tools - alleviating some our financial burdens. We’re aiming to get out of survival mode and start growing.
Financial Reports (October 2024)📊
Here is the financial report for October!
Biggest Takeaways
Once again, deficits are about the same.
The Board is hopeful, once we have our official 501(c)(3) status (our NPO tax exempt status) that this will help shore up the deficits. The Board is tentatively expecting this change to take effect late January/Early February 2025.
Thoughts from the Financial Director!
Hello everyone! Thank you so much for reading this newsletter and supporting InkBlot this far. Everyone involved, Board, volunteers and staff, greatly appreciates it.
I just wanted to speak about the survey that we asked for responses to! Thank you to those who have submitted responses so far. Your feedback is always invaluable, but especially more so now that the Board has been formed and we are looking to figure out where to steer InkBlot in 2025. The development of InkBlot is a huge priority to those who have responded and I wanted to let you know that the Board hears you and that has been a huge part of our conversations/meetings since forming the Board.
I can’t say much more than that at this moment, as we want to make sure we have a clear plan for whatever direction we take InkBlot in next year, but please know your feedback/suggestions/opinions are always taken into account in that plan! Also, if you haven’t submitted a response to the survey yet, please consider doing so soon. We’d love to hear from as many people as possible, even if your opinions are similar - we want to make sure you are heard and feel that InkBlot still follows the vision of being for the community we built it for.

Community Events and the Future
After some careful consideration, we’ve decided to restructure our focus over on the CE team. While we strive to bring engaging and fun opportunities to our community, it’s clear that this shouldn’t be a “bandaid” for the issues our platform is facing.
That said, the Community Events team is looking to focus on engaging with the community, hearing your concerns and suggestions, and providing space for your works to shine. We’ll be cutting the amount of events for 2025 to give the community more impactful opportunities and collaborative projects.
Once our growing pains have passed and we’ve advanced development, we’ll consider upping our event frequency - but for now, we’ll be toning it back on the quantity and focusing on quality.
